Beth Brown -Reinsel Workshop
Fiber Experiences hosted a great workshop with Beth Brown-Reinsel on Aug 2 and 3. The Saturday workshop was Ganseys. These are the sweaters worn by the Scotish fishermen. Construction details include the channel isle cast on, armhole gussets, and patterning on the up part of the body. Plain knitting was tucked into waders. Sunday was devoted to the Swedish technique of Twined Knitting. Students constructed a miniature mitten. This technique produces a very dense fabric as bot
h ends of the yarn ball are used alternately. Black Water Abbey was a great yarn choice for both projects.
