Madrona - Part 2: Anita Luvera Mayer

Saturday's keynote speaker was Anita Mayer. Anita is the consumate fiber artist. Her creativity is amazing and her capacity to inspire has me in awe. I had the pleasure of taking 2 extended workshops from Anita in Boulder a few years back. It was a wonderful learning experience.
Anita's talk was on the collection of shrouds she created reflecting the life experiences of women.
At 74, Anita is particularly well known in the weaving world. Additionally, she leads fiber related tours around the world. Next week she heads to India for a month of fiber experiences.
Anita was wearing a stunning duster made of small, hand-dyed squares of silk.

I believe everyone left knowing they could do more with their lives.

It sounds like a wonderful keynote speech. Did you take The Mittens of Rovaniemi class, with Susanna Hansson? It sounds like a fascinating technque.
